Program process 

This Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) allows all of the people who have followed the program and successfully passed the securities regulator exams to work in all of the Canadian provinces.

 

Program Curriculum 

In order to be eligible for the insurance of persons, group insurance or one of their sector classes exam, a candidate will be required to have successfully completed specialized training in these sectors or sector classes offered by a course provider.
 

LLQP competencies evaluated:

  • Ethics and professional practice (Québec) Module:  Develop an ethical professional practice, in compliance with the rules governing the insurance of persons sector

  • Ethics and professional practice (Canada) Module:  Develop an ethical professional practice, in compliance with the rules governing the life insurance sector

  • Life insurance Module: Recommend individual and group life insurance products adapted to the client’s needs  and situation
  • Accident and sickness insurance Module: Recommend individual and group accident and sickness insurance products adapted to the client’s needs and situation
  • Segregated funds and annuities Module: Recommend segregated funds, individual annuities and group pension plans adapted to the client’s needs and situation

 Criteria for success 

  • A score of 70% is needed on the practice exam to be able to write the  certification exam. 
  • Participants will have to pass the certification exams related to the program with a score of at least 60% to be allowed to register for the LLQP exams of the provincial regulator.
